Habitat Restoration Phase 1

1987 - 1991

In March 1987 volunteers, with Council's permission, commenced the removal of weeds and stimulated natural regeneration of native plants. The team, averaging 6 people, worked each Tuesday. A New South Wales Government grant to Ku-ring-gai Bat Colony Committee (KBCC), over 4 years, matched by Ku-ring-gai Council, enabled a contract team of bush regenerators to also work on the site 40 days per year. In 1991 the Volunteer team continued and the contract team continued to be funded only by Ku-ring-gai Council.
